Change of Location Guidelines |
Student Uses ETM Process
a. Baccalaureate students are expected to complete two full years of academic work at their location of admission and use the Entrance to Major Process (ETM) to enter majors and change location to UP if appropriate. If the student meets entrance to major requirements and has earned > 43.1 credits by the end of the appropriate fall semester then the COA will be automatic.
b. In the case where a student uses the ETM process and is evaluated as in progress, the student will be re-evaluated at the end of the appropriate spring semester. If the student meets the entrance to major requirements and has earned > 43.1 credits by the end of the appropriate fall semester the COA to UP will be approved but it is not automatic. The COA request needs to be initiated by the student.
c. In the case where a student uses the ETM process and is evaluated as denied, the student needs to apply for change of major and COA. When the application is reviewed, if the student meets the entrance to major requirements and has earned > 43.1 credits by the end of the appropriate fall semester the COA to UP will be approved.
Student Does Not Use ETM Process
a. If the student applies for COA and is > 5 th semester and is in a major or meets ETM requirements (CM will also have to be processed), the student’s COA request will be approved.
b. If the student applies for COA and is > 5 th semester and does not meet ETM requirements, the student’s COA request will be referred to and reviewed by the department.
Early COA Requests
a. Requests for early relocation to University Park, during the first two years of academic work, are generally only approved when it is necessary for the student to maintain normal degree progress toward the student’s preferred major.
