Kid Campers Crack Crime Case with Science 14 August 2003 -- Penn State hosted two "Crime
Scene Investigators" camps in June and August that allowed students
entering grades 5-8 to get some "hands-on" experience in gathering
and examining forensic evidence from a simulated crime sceen. The students
followed their data collection by learning techniques for isolation and
amplification of DNA, construction of DNA fingerprints, analysis of microscopic
fiber and hair samplesall designed to help them unravel a mystery
and bring the guilty party to justice. Penn State videographers followed the students in their quest for clues and have prepared a short movie clip to share the experience. Click the link below to download the video file. [ L A K ]
