Ayoub Co-Authors Article
Raymond Ayoub, professor emeritus of mathematics, and David Roeltgen, a neurologist in Williamsport, have co-authored a research article in Quaker History, a publication of the Friends Historical Association. The article, titled “Lexical Agraphia in the Writing of George Fox,” describes the condition of agraphia, a writing deficiency present in the handwriting samples of Fox, who is generally recognized as the founder of Quakers--the Religious Society of Friends. Ayoub is interested in constructing a mathematical model of writing that distinguishes authorship and Roeltgen uses analytical methods to characterize Fox’s spelling.
