Internship

If you are completing a summer internship assignment related to your major, and you are interested in earning academic credit for the assignment, please do the following:

  • Visit www.science.psu.edu/coop/downloads/internship-application.pdf. There you will find an application form to complete and return to the Science Career & International Education Office in 108 Whitmore Laboratory. The details of your assignment will be reviewed, and you will be notified if your assignment has been approved for academic credit.
  • Complete a student profile on the Science Career & International Eduction on-line registration system. Please complete only the student profile; you do not need to upload a resume or cover sheet.

If approved for credit, then you will be registered for the appropriate course (SC 294 or SC 494) by the staff in the Science Career & International Education Office. You must be registered for the course during the summer semester, while you are completing the assignment; retroactively adding the course is not permitted.

At the end of the summer session, you will be required to submit the appropriate work report, evaluations, and any additional course assignments to earn a grade (pass/fail) for the course.
