What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

I have always been an inquisitive mind who values curiosity, and science has so many endless opportunities for me to learn and take on challenges that lead to discovery. I have always been fascinated by how things work, especially the human body, and pursuing a career in medicine and science provides me with endless opportunities to advance in the healthcare field. My passion for pursuing medicine stems from my desire to provide quality and equal health-care services by promoting and advocating for more-inclusive care for patients, especially those in marginalized communities.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Black History Month is a month where we celebrate, appreciate, and recognize the struggles, triumph, and important role Black people played in the history of the U.S. and acknowledge the cultural and political experiences that have impacted the history of the U.S. It is the month in which we honor the beauty, creativity, and ingenuity of Black people.
