UMASS SRFP (3 Programs) The combined University of Massachusetts Medical School Summer Research Programs are non-credit, ten-week, research experiences. The programs consist of "hands-on" laboratory research experience with an investigator serving as a mentor, role model and advisor. The programs are designed to provide participants in-depth exposure to the actual practice of scientific research in the hopes that the excitement, challenge and creativity of the enterprise will convince them to consider basic research in the sciences as a viable career choice. http://www.umassmed.edu/summer/ MU-SPIN/MESSENGER PROJECT A student intern program with mission engineers sponsored by NASA/Minority University Research and Education Division and The John Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory. http://mured.nasaprs.com/muspin/index.cfm
