MURE

The MURE program began in 1991 and has offered research experience in the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Earth and Mineral Science, Engineering, Health and Human Development, Information Sciences and Technology, and Science. The MURE program was created to help stem high dropout and major change rates among minority students in science and engineering related fields.

WISER Program

WISER is a research program for women in their first year of undergraduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University. It was created in 1993 as a means to retain women in the traditionally male-dominated fields of science and engineering, where studies have proven the highest percentages of dropouts occur among women.

UMASS SRFP (3 Programs)

The combined University of Massachusetts Medical School Summer Research Programs are non-credit, ten-week, research experiences. The programs consist of "hands-on" laboratory research experience with an investigator serving as a mentor, role model and advisor. The programs are designed to provide participants in-depth exposure to the actual practice of scientific research in the hopes that the excitement, challenge and creativity of the enterprise will convince them to consider basic research in the sciences as a viable career choice.
