Assists and advises the Associate Dean on all matters related to facilities usage, development, and renovation in the Eberly College of Science. Duties include on-site inspection to ensure installations meet required specifications. Acts as liaison with Office of Physical Plant, outside contractors, design professionals, and faculty to ensure completion of projects within prescribed time limits and parameters. Initiates and conducts cost studies and monitors condition of assigned space. Serves as the college wide Safety Officer and Parking Chairperson. Also supervises the ECoS Research Support Shop and is responsible for property inventory accountability.

Serve as back-up to the Facilities Coordinator in his role as College emergency contact, key custodian, safety officer, and parking chairperson, solve non-routine problems and handle special/unusual requests, manage limited scope projects, provide cost estimates, schedule work for College maintenance shop, assist with major laboratory renovation projects, attend job meetings, produce and approve financial documents, maintain budgets, maintain charge-out rates, call in/email routine and emergency maintenance calls, submit and approve worker's compensation forms, handle property inventory requests, issue keys and parking, and other daily office duties.

The ECoS Reseach Support Shop is able to accommodate a variety of the college’s maintenance and repair needs. Such as:

• The repair, relocation, and installation of scientific equipment
• The installation of new or refurbishing of older lab and office furniture
• Light laboratory and office renovations (i.e. Patching and painting of walls, installation of carpet, floor tile, shelving, and work surfaces)
• Minor plumbing modifications
• Complete woodworking shop
• Access to heavy moving equipment
