Spring 2001 -- Vol. 18, No. 1

Spring 2001 cover image

ON THE COVER:
Research conducted by Claude dePamphilis and colleagues offers insight into the history of flowering plants and puts water lillies at the base of the family tree for such plans. Their genetic analysis alters previous perspectives and rank water lillies among the most ancient flowering plants known. Details about the work, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, can be FOUND HERE .
