Eberly College of Science Hosts Open House on 29 March

26 March 2008 —Members of the University community, along with prospective students and their parents, are invited to participate in the 19th annual Eberly College of Science Open-House day on Saturday, 29 March 2008, with activities beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration will be held at the Life Sciences Building. Presentations and informal discussions with deans, faculty, advisors, staff, and current students will continue throughout the day at the Verne M. Willaman Gateway to the Sciences and at science buildings throughout the campus. Sessions will include tours of classrooms and research facilities in astronomy and astrophysics, biochemistry and molecular biology, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, forensic science, mathematics, microbiology, physics, premedicine, general science, statistics, and the Science BS/MBA Program.

Sessions focusing on Career and International Education opportunities and the First-Year Experience also are available, as well as campus tours in the early morning and late afternoon.

Approximately 3,000 high-school seniors who have been offered admission to the Eberly College of Science at the University Park campus for the 2008 summer and fall semesters have been invited to attend. The event has played a significant role in boosting admissions in the sciences at Penn State. The event is also open to high-school students who are just beginning their college search.
