The program is not remedial. It is not intendended for students who already have a science background and want to bolster their academic record in science. (That can be accomplished by enrolling at Penn State as a nondegree graduate student or in a one-year master's degree program.)

To receive an application you may callPenn State offers a strong educational experience at a reasonable price to all qualified students. In-state tuition for the 2006-07 school year at University Park is $5,820 per semester for full time students (12 or more credits) or $485 per credit for part-time students (fewer than 12 credits). Out-of-state tuition is $11,100 per semester for full-time students and 925 per credit for part-time students. The student activities and computer fees for both Pennsylvania and out-of-state students are $257. Adult learners are welcome in all campus residence halls. At University Park, you can apply for accomodations in a special area reserved for adult learners. Single or family housing is also available in private living quarters and apartment complexes close to campus. Contact the Housing Referral Service(101 Sheilds building, 814-865-7501) for information about on-campus housing.
For off-campus housing, the Community Life Office (814-865-2346) maintains up-to-date lists and information about alternative housing arrangements.
