Science students have a number of study abroad options from summer to semester to year-long. There are eight institutions the College identifies as "partners," and we encourage you to consider them as you're investigating study abroad options. All of the partner institutions have strong science degree programs, and a few of the majors/options most likely to be suited to each are noted below. Please consult the institutions' web sites or review their prospectuses for details on the exact programs and courses offered. (They might not use exactly the same name for a major as we use at PSU, so keep an open mind as you're researching your options.)
In addition to the partner institution exchanges, science students may choose to study abroad to fulfill requirements for a language minor or to take general education courses. EA offers dozens of study abroad locations, so there is something to suit every student's interests! Visit the EA office in 410 Boucke to review the available options, or check out their web site: Students Interested in Study Abroad for more details.

International Student Information
The Southampton Oceanography Centre (SOC) is one of a few world-class centers of excellence in ocean sciences, earth sciences, and ocean technology. The study abroad program with the SOC has been designed specifically for students interested in earning a Marine Science minor. More details about the program can be found at www.international.psu.edu, and specific questions regarding the program can be addressed to Dr. Lee Kump in Penn State's Geosciences Department (lkump@psu.edu).
Offering: Two required courses with fieldwork components, two optional courses you choose from a short list, and one non-marine science/oceanography course chosen from a large selection of available courses. GPA Requirement 3.0
* While it may be possible to study abroad for the spring semester only, you may not be able to register for certain science classes offered only for the full year. Research course choices carefully before making a decision about the length of your study abroad experience and the location in which you would like to study.
** The summer program at Philipps Universität includes German language and non-science courses to meet general education requirements.
